Omaka Lodge is a large country home designed by renowned New Zealand architect, the late Jack Cantlon, one of the founders of what is now Chapple Architecture. Designed to be a family home and the main homestead for a sheep and beef station of over 5,000 acres, Omaka Lodge was built in 1977-78, largely from native Rimu timber that was milled on the surrounding station. Jack Cantlon was well ahead of his time in many respects, and Omaka Lodge has an interior that is beautiful and timeless, whilst also offering different spaces to suit a variety of needs for boutique venue hire.

As well as being a beautiful residence, Omaka Lodge is surrounded by several acres of beautiful grounds. As well as a five-acre field, several acres of our grounds are landscaped into beautiful gardens that have featured in NZ House & Garden magazine. The grounds and gardens contain a large variety of mature trees and well established planting, not to mention a sealed tennis court and a salt water swimming pool. The driveway to Omaka Lodge is sealed, and we have a large sealed parking area, as well as plenty of field space for vehicles to park.

The house and grounds of Omaka Lodge combine to offer a wide variety of spaces that are ideal for boutique venue hire. There are many possibilities, and here are just some of them:

Inside Omaka Lodge, we have two inter-linked rooms available, our formal dining room and our adjacent formal living room. Both rooms open off our spacious entrance hall, which features a large and private guest toilet, and both are are air-conditioned for year-round comfort.

• The Formal Dining Room – this stunning space is ideal for luncheons or business meetings. Amongst its features are:
